With these ‘Counsels of Passion’, the Intermunicipal Community of Beiras and Serra da Estrela (CIMBSE) inspires us to set out and explore this incredible region. Another collaboration with the Lobby team, where I had the chance to create the script for this beautiful film with the creative direction and directed by Telmo Martins.

Creative Concept
From the sky, something unites Beiras and Serra da Estrela. That something is the diversity of its people. Each one, in every municipality, carries a piece of wisdom. Their fierce passion for their land makes them shout its colors, voices rising from earth to sky. And this blend of vibrant souls merges into what becomes the identity of the place: something profound that can only be understood by experiencing it, with the simplicity and boldness of those who dare to get lost.
The film opens on a close-up of an empty backpack falling onto a bed. The one who drops it, a thirty-year-old woman with a rebellious air and free spirit, brushes her hair from her eyes with the determined look of someone about to begin a task. Packing up, or rather, the backpack, in preparation for an adventure through Beiras and Serra da Estrela.
As she goes through this ritual, despite her strong, independent personality, she reflects on the advice given to her, voices echoing in her head, heard as voice-over. A process that both grounds and amuses her.
Voice-over
– Go all out, my friend, and forget about looking good. You’ll just want to enjoy every jump, every flight, every breathtaking sunset. See everything. Listen to everything. Feel everything deeply. And fall in love along the way (laughs).
– Sweetheart, listen to me, you’re going to pass through unique places, places where history is still as alive as when it happened. Hold on to every image, every smile (and you’ll get plenty), but don’t get lost in the photos. Whenever you can, forget the camera and live the moment. Do it as it comes. You’ll capture it all much better, deep in your heart.
– Oh, my dear, I already miss you. Make sure you eat properly, okay? Surely where you’re going, that won’t be hard. Don’t overdo it, but try everything. And don’t forget to bring me some little cheeses, my dear. Rest well, really rest, alright? Get those amazing massages… you’ll feel younger. Kisses.
– So, kiddo, still having adventures? Listen, don’t skip the festivals, got it? There are amazing things happening there. And the museums? Pfff… lucky you! I wish I could go with you. Keep me posted on everything, alright? And I want photos of you dancing, the kind that go viral.
